MILDE & HOFFBERG LLP
Intellectual Property Attorneys
Milde & Hoffberg LLP is a boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, agreements and allied areas of law.
We are located in White Plains, a suburb of Manhattan, and cater to an international clientele. The firm represents clients of all sizes, from large corporations to smaller companies and entrepreneurs. We assist clients in formulating and implementing complex intellectual property strategies, developing, maintaining and asserting strategic intellectual property portfolios, and defending against of intellectual property infringement. We also provide support for other attorneys by providing our expertise on a consulting, local counsel, or co-counsel basis, and are available to serve as expert witnesses in the field of patent prosecution and intellectual property valuation/damages.
The partners,
Karl F, Milde, Jr. and
Steven M. Hoffberg, are both registered
patent attorneys, and are also Of Counsel to
Moses & Singer LLP.
Both Mr. Milde and Mr. Hoffberg are MIT graduates.
The firm provides assistance in all phases of obtaining,
defending, licensing and asserting intellectual property rights,
defending those accused of infringement, and assisting in
building value for enterprises by leveraging proprietary
technologies and intellectual assets. We also are available to
render a variety of opinions regarding intellectual property
validity, infringement, valuation, ownership, freedom to
operate, and various due diligence matters. In addition to our expertise
as intellectual property attorneys, we have
extensive technological background in a broad range of fields.
We handle all arts, including electrical and electronics, communicati9ons and networking, mechanical, chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech, software and Internet, business methods, and design patents.
While Milde & Hoffberg LLP seeks to represent its clients' interests, both in private and public fora, we also enunciate our own beliefs, which may or may not coincide with those of each of our clients. We generally advocate inventor's rights and interests, but also believe that a sound patent system must fairly permit industrialization and commerce with some certainty as to the risks, and with a fair scope of public domain. A member of the firm recently filed an Amicus Curiae brief with the Supreme Court, advocating retention of a presumption of entitlement by a prevailing patentee to an injunction, in eBay v. MercExchange.
